Primary tabs

Yogyakarta, 9/05/2025 — The Doctoral Program in Educational Sciences, Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), once again held the Visiting Professor Inbound (VP In) program in 2025 with the theme “Developing and Publishing Research Method in Moral and Character Education: Qualitative, Quantitative, or Mixed Methods and Instruments.” The program was officially opened by Dr. Sukarno, S.Pd., M.Hum., Vice Director for Planning, General Affairs, and Finance at the UNY Graduate School.
This year’s VP In program featured Prof. Dr. Wiel Veugelers from the University for Humanistic Studies, Utrecht, the Netherlands, as the main speaker. Across three sessions, participants explored three key topics: (1) Developing research designs for modal and character education, (2) Quantitative and qualitative approaches in moral and character education, and (3) Strategies for publishing research in moral and character education.
The program was conducted online via Zoom on 28 April, 5 May, and 9 May 2025, and was actively attended by both lecturers and students, not only from the Doctoral Program in Educational Sciences, but also from various master’s and doctoral programs across universities in Indonesia.
Participants showed great enthusiasm throughout the sessions, engaging actively in discussions and expressing keen interest in the innovative approaches introduced by Prof. Veugelers, who is widely recognized for his contributions to the development of global citizenship education. Attendees benefited from direct learning with an international professor, received e-certificates and in-depth materials, and gained opportunities to build cross-national academic networks.
Beyond strengthening methodological competencies in moral and character education research, this activity also supports the internationalization goals of the study program through global academic collaboration. It is expected that this initiative will continue to enhance the quality and impact of research produced by UNY Graduate School students, both nationally and internationally.
